I heart Boston.
I had me a 4 day love affair with the city. It's so full of history, culture, and most importantly food and drink. Sigh.
Friday: Original Cheers Bar, Fanueil Hall, Freedom Trail, Quincy Marketplace, U.S.S. Constitution, IMAX - "Deep Sea," Union Oyster House, Legal Seafoods, The Black Rose, Champions.
Weather: Overcast.
Saturday: Sam Adam's Brewery, Too much food at Quincy, the New England Aquarium, Finale Desserts, Gypsy Bar, Felt Club, Top of the Hub at the Prudential.
Weather: Heavy Rain day, Warm night!
Sunday: Bodega, The Barking Crab, Durgin Park, More food at Quincy Market, Chicago Uno.
Weather: Gorgeous. 50s.
Monday: Harvard University, B Good, M.I.T., Berklee School of Music, Fenway Park, Back Bay Fens.
Weather: Gorgeous. 40s.
A list of Food: Spinach and Lobster Dip, Jalepeno Calamari, Raw Oysters, Lobster, Clams, Mussels, Crab Cakes, Ahi Tuna, Shrimp Dumplings, Swordfish Skewers, Lobster Bisque, Teriyaki Chicken, Lobster Salad Roll, Jumbo Stuffed Shrimp, Beef and Cheese Ball, Boston Baked Beans, Boston Cream Pie, some 11 types of dessert at Finale. And clam chowder, clam chowder, and more clam chowder.
A list of Drink: Sam Adams Seasonal, Conundrum - White Wine, Bud, Rum and Coke, Irish Car Bombs, Lemon Drops, Patron, "Slime Shots."
I think I spent the perfect amount of time in Boston. I got to sample the best of the city without overstaying my welcome. I love the old brick of the buildings, the cobblestone streets, the brisk air, and friendly people, but most of all I love that you can walk the entire place in a few hours. It was very Londonesque (on a much smaller capacity).
I think it also gave me a little kick in the pants in life. There are a lot of small things I am going to try and appreciate more now. Reading...music...reading with music. It's all good.

Walking in a Winter Blunderland
The holidays are over. And thus, it is time to slip into that state of great depression once again.
Well, not so much. The contrast between my break last year and going back to mundane normalcy each day was way too huge to handle. This year, I barely felt my break at all, so coming back to the daily grind hasn't left a huge gaping hole in my soul...yet.
Hmmm, let's do a little comparison of 2006 break to 2007 break.
Malignant cold? Check. Hawaii? Check.
Warm Sun? Nay. Alcohol? Nay.
And therein lies the problem.
My break was surprisingly sober this year, unless you count that horse pee Heineken Light that I had one night. Nevertheless, there were some fun moments.
Here is my Top 10 list of memorable holiday break instances:
1. Having nightmares because of THIS:

2. Getting all sunblocked out only to walk out of my hotel room to...

4. ...which didn't stand.
5. Spending 9 hours driving through the armpits of Southern California only to NOT get a new phone.
6. Getting over nine people to say the phrase "Randy, Salami, Slap" in one night.
7. Legitamitely winning a pt. by getting people to say "locusts," using the phrase "it rhymes with jocusts."
8. RY debuting his new hairstyle, inspired by Cameron Diaz ala Something About Mary...
9. Actually feeling like I was in the top 10% most ghetto at the Chris Brown concert.
10. Spreading the dangers of the ever potent penis fish.

Hard Day's Night
I forgot I tried writing in my blog on Friday night (technically, Saturday morning), but when I re-opened this draft it made absolutely no sense (sober) whatsoever. I'm guessing that I jotted most of it down prior to me suffering from third degree heat lamp burns, but after the part where I tried to shower with some of my clothes on. Kick. Ass. Party.
My star sighting list pretty much doubled (until I lost consciousness):
Simon Rex
Kim Smith
Anna Faris
Katherine McPhee
Cameron Crowe
Matthew Perry
Winona Ryder
Nicky Hilton
The "Secret" Bush Guy
Bartender from IKWBL
Brad Greenberg
Jesse Bradford (who actually talked to me)
...and of course, Adam, Rob, Allan and everyone else from the Happy Madison crew.
Note: It took every fiber of self-restraint in my body to not pull out my "jazz" hands while talking to Jesse.

OBSESSION...by Calvin Klein.
I'm a little obsessed with Rock Band.
I spent a good 7 hours this weekend playing the damn thing and I don't even own the game. Too bad I uberly suck at it, so it's just wretched noises coming from whatever instrument I happen to be victimizing at the moment.
I blame my crappiness on my utter lack of rhythm. I can't play the stupid concentration/Paddy Cake game without flubbing on the 2nd or 3rd time. I also can't play the King Elephant drinking game (sober) at all. Good thing I was in band for 7 years!
At first I refused but now I really want Guitar Hero III for the Wii. I was going to wait and maybe get a PS3 and the game all at once but now I want the immediate satisfaction without shelling out $500+ dollars. Gahhhhhh, re-stock stupid stores!
